One of the greatest explorers in history, Robert Ballard is a pioneer of deep-sea archaeology and a former commander in the U.S. Naval Reserve. Over the past 40 years he and his teams have discovered some of the most notable shipwrecks of our time, including the German battleship Bismarck and the U.S.S. Yorktown from World War II, John F. Kennedy's PT-109, and the most storied civilian shipwreck, the R.M.S. Titanic. Ballard is also credited with one of the most significant geologic discoveries of our time, deep-sea hydrothermal vents--massive formations that spew superheated fluid from beneath the ocean floor.

Journey alongside Ballard as he shares highlights of his 40+-year career plying our ocean's depths in search of human history.
